This past Friday the internet brought geeks everywhere 2 reasons to break out the Jergins.  CHECK OUT THE 2 NEW MOVIE TRAILERS FOR STAR TREK AND WATCHMEN

Alias and Lost creatorJ.J. Abrahams is bringing us the new Star Trek which goes back to the beginning of Kirk, Spock and the rest of the original crew's careers.  The teaser trailer has been out for a long time since the movie was originally supposed to drop in 2008 but got pushed back to May 8, 2009.
Here's the link to the first full trailer for the movie:

In 1986 Watchmen, a comic book mini-series, was released to more critical acclaim and awards than any comic book to date and has held that prestige to this day thanks to the graphic novel collectin of the series.  To call this a comic is to down playing the fact that Alan Moore (creator of V for Vendetta and From Hell to name just a couple) wrote a masterpiece better than most books I've ever read.  The scope of the book is too complex to explain quickly so do yourself a favor and read it (you'll realize that everything from Pixar's The Incredibles to TV's Heroes have blatently stolen from Watchmen).

Zach Snyder who directed 300 brings you the screen adaptation which arrives in theaters March 6, 2009.

THE NEW STAR TREK CAST:

James T. Kirk (originally played by William Shatner, better known to young folks as the Price Line Negotiator) will be played by Chris Pine.
Chris Pine hasn't done much credit worthy work beyond Smoking Aces, in which he played one of the nihilistic punks.

Zachary Quinto will be playing young Mr. Spock (originally played by Leaonard Nimoy)
Zachary also plays Silar on the TV show Heroes.  When you see him in costume you'll know this was the best casting call for the movie.

The SMOKING HOT Zoe Saldana will be playing Uhura (originally played by the SMOKING HOT Nichelle Nichols)
Zoe's been in some semi-popular movies including Guess Who with Ashton Kutcher and was wrongfully cut from the 2 Pirates of the Caribbean sequals despite delivering the hottest line of the movie, "The Black Pearl is yours Captian."
Nichelle Nichols was the second original cast member to get a side roll on the TV show Heroes

the younger Dr. "Bones" McCoy will played by Karl Urban (originally played by DeForest Kelley)
You may (not) remember Karl from 2 previous dud sci-fi/fantasy films, DOOM and Pathfinder.

John Cho (no relation to Margaret) will play the young Sulu (originally played by George Takei)
John has been type cast since Harold and Kumar.  Being the "MILF" guy from American Pie didn't help either.  Good to see him moving on like Kumar who's now a doctor on the TV show House.
Mr. Takei is most famous for coming out of the closet a few years ago, thus scoring him the most masculine roll of his career playing Kaito Nakamura on the TV show Heroes.  Don't ask me how that happened.

Anton Yelchen will be stepping into the shoes of Chekov (originally played by Walter Koenig)
Anton is pretty much an unknown although you may remember him getting killed by Justin Timberlake in Alpha Dog, ultimately doing his part to help bring sexy back.

Finally, we bring you everyone's favorite character to quote, Scotty (originally played by James Doohan), who will now be played by Simon Pegg
Simon should be familiar to you as the star and writer of the 2 modern classics Shawn of the Dead and Hot Fuzz
