Terminator Salvation, opening May 22, 2009 is the fourth film in the Terminator Franchise. Terminator & T2 Judgement Day were directed by award winning director James Cameron(Titanic, Aliens, True Lies), whilst the third was directed by Jonathan Mostow(Breakdown, U571). 'Salvation' is directed by Joseph (McG) Nichol, director of the first Charlie's Angels, its TOILET BOWL FLOATER of a sequel and the football drama 'We Are Marshall'. His credentials don't give credence to any faith that he is a proficient enough director for such serious material given that he is also responsible for light television fare such as Fastlane, The O.C, & Chuck. No Shakespeare in that material folks!!!! The light at the end of the tunnel is the casting of Christian Bale as the main character John Connor. Bale is an actor well known for choosing movie roles based on strong scripts i.e. The Prestige, Harsh Times, 3:10 to Yuma, Batman Begins & its spectacular sequel 'The Dark Knight'. The movie also stars rapper Common, the ONLY rapper, in my opinion...who HAS NOT acted in a bad movie to date...a claim that no other rapper can say, his resume says it all(Smokin Aces, American Gangster, Street Kings, Wanted). So I actually have a lot of high hopes for this movie. Check out the trailer...makes me wanna watch the movie definitely even though the last shot of the trailer can't help but remind you of Transformers. I for one will be checking this out next May. Just don't kick my damn seat if you sitting behind me!!!
