From 2000 to 2004 Sacha Baron Cohen went virtually unknown in the USA despite being a cerfitiable star in the UK thanks to his alter ego Ali G, not to mention a boost from Madonna when prominently featured in her video for "Music". In 2006 that all changed with a little help from Larry Charles (one of the minds behind TV's Seinfeld) and a side character from Da Ali G Show, a Kazakhstan TV reporter named Borat. The movie Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation Of Kazakhstan (also known simply as Borat) changed the game for all comedic films and television, propelling Cohen into international superstardom.

This July, Cohen is going to see if he can make lightning strike twice. The question at hand is, what's more preposterous: that he's trying to produce another pop culture phenomenon using the same formula, or, that an internationally recognizable star can disguise himself and pull the wool over the world once again? The task proved difficult from the start. Although he successfully fooled a slew of fashion show security guards, retailers and more, word quickly spread of his project prompting many people to be prepared and quickly video his antics with cameras and mobile devices. Amateur footage from bystanders quickly began popping up on YouTube causing producers to work much harder in order to guarantee that they came up with enough skits to avoid having the whole movie virally leaked months before completion.

The results should be hilariously satisfying for all us junkies that have been salivating since the credits came up on Borat. Some would say (when I say "some" I mean "me") that Bruno was the true star of Da Ali G Show. July 10th we'll see if he can pull off the impossible.
