PROGRESSIVE/TECH HOUSE PIONEER DANNY HOWELLS VISITS NYC



New York weekly party Dance.Here.Too goes down every Saturday at Santos Party Room.  This past weekend the dance floors were graced by UK Progressive and Tech House pioneer Danny Howells.  Upon taking the stage at 1:00am, Danny was greeted by fans shouting his name before he began a solid set of bass heavy tunes.  The front row quickly began breaking a sweat but a bulk of the crowd seemed to have come to converse and drink.  Not your typical House crowd.  A hipster girl who frequents Santos walks in and quickly turns to me to ask, "what's with this motley crew in here???" leading me to believe Danny's draw ultimately introduced a whole new set of night lifers to the venue.  An hour in, Danny stepped up the intensity prompting more bodies to move, and for those not dancing, the liquor to flow quicker.  Regardless of the crowd's desired method of participation, good times were definitely had by all.
