Album teasers are a fantastic concept; show the fans just enough to get them excited for the release and still leave them wanting more. It is rare however, that an album teaser actually becomes an interesting piece of music that can stand on its own, its usually all business, straight to the point, without so much as a thought that it could become something on its own.But when an album teaser can become more than just a marketing tool, it becomesa real testament to the DJ and production talent of the artists in question. But its not like anyone expected any less of Jack Beats when they released their Evolution Mixtape in support of their new OWSLA release, Careless, the first of two EPs being dropped by the UK duo over the next few months. As proved by this mix, the album is full of nothing but banger after banger, but there wont be many people that aren't content with the mix as a stand alone. But the album itself is going to be something seriously special, the list of collaborators alone is absolutely stacked; Diplo, OWSLA labelmate DillonFrancis, Example, and Takura, with a lineup like that, how could it possiblydisappoint? Careless is clearly something to get excited about, there isn't a single track that falls short, from the amazing collaborations with Diplo and Dillon Francis, to the filthy Flux Pavilion remix, and the Beyonce rework that drives harder than just about any track ever to grace a set of turntables. This set of releases from Jack Beats is poised to be some of the best of 2012, but even if all we got was the mix, I can't say I'd complain.
