I love getting the opportunity to review a new release from an up-and-coming artist that I haven't discovered yet. I'm always on the lookout for new music, and when I find a really good new artist, I love getting the chance to share them with the world. And that was precisely the treat that was waiting for me in my inbox this week. I was looking at an EP by a producer named Infuze, for some reason, up to this point, I had never heard of Infuze, but after a little bit of journalistic Googling I quickly figured out that I wasn't alone.  But that is all about to change! Infuze's new SMOG release, Far Away, is likely to be the catalyst that sets his career over the edge. His tracks are an incredibly well composed and catchy brand of Dubstep, fueled by Circus Records style synthlines very much in the vein of the legends Flux Pavilion and Doctor P, and all degrees of vocal work. I happen to love all genres of vocal-driven EDM. Well written vocals can add so much to a track, whether it be Dubstep, Trance, or House. And in this sense, Infuze has created a set of instant classics. The opening track, “Far Away”, was immediately deep and dynamic, creating a very cohesive and full sound, that most artists couldn't ever touch. The vocals and brilliantly composed synth lines gave the track not only some solid pop sensibilities, but made it feel like such a complete piece of work. With the endless advancements in technologies these days, it's so easy and affordable for an artist to create an album without ever having to leave their bedroom. And often times, it sounds like it was a piece written in a bedroom. This album is the cumulation of a lot of planning and hard work, pieced together in a professional setting, and resulting in a very professional finished product. The album was an absolute breath of fresh air.  It reminded me that professionalism still exists in music, and apparently it is here to stay as well. Everyone is sure to take notice of Infuze with the release of Far Away, so be sure to catch on early, I hope you all enjoy discovering him as much as I did.
