MOGUAI DROPS FIRST FULL LENGTH ALBUM

- D. Painter

Do not expose to bright light (dark clubs preferred).  Do not get wet (keep your drinks away from the DJ booth).  Do need not feed music before midnight (late night club appearances preferred).  Moguai may be named after the cute animals from the movie Gremlins that have some undesirable side effects when these rules are broken, but his harder side is what people have been paying to see worldwide for over 10 years.  Born and raised in Germany, Andre Tegeler was interested in skate boarding throughout his youthful years in the 80's.  This era exposed him to Punk music and the early stages of what would become Techno.  Skating took precedent over music, so much that his goal of starting a board company lead to his sister brainstorming the name "Moguai" as the company name.  Fast forward a few years and the tables turned, both metaphorically and literally.  By the mid 90's music had become king in the life of Andre and with no stage moniker he took his sisters suggestion and adopted it for himself.  Over the next 15 years Moguai has maintained a successful career thanks to a long list of releases through his Punx label including memorable tracks like "U Know Y", "Beatbox", and "Sittin On Chrome".  When EDM superstar Deadmau5 was hunting for talent a few years ago he found it in, not a budding new DJ with production aspirations, but the wise and refined Andre who quickly adapted to the sound of Mau5trap Records to drop 4 Electro and Progressive infused sinlges including "ZYVOX" and "Nyce" as a lead up to the full length album We Ar Lyve (released this past April).  What makes this album special is not only is it the only full length to be released by Mau5trap that isn't a Deadmau5 album, but it's also Moguai's only full length album, ever!  To learn more, HipsterOverkill.com went to the pool at South Beach Miami's famous Shore Club to sit down on camera and get the story.
